Let’s Respect Women

HSO has started a special programme ‘Let’s Respect Women’ for women empowerment. Under this programme we are teaching self-defence techniques to women in the age group  9-45 years.

As per our study, women fall victim to eve-teasing while travelling, going to office, college or school. There are plenty of cases where women in their homes are not safe and have been fallen prey to violence and oppression.

Our NGO has decided to impart self defence training to these girls to make them fearless. To meet these objectives the NGO has identified educational institutions like girl schools and colleges, working places and spot campaigns for imparting training. We are also conducting campaigns to spread awareness about eve-teasing and asking the women to speak against this evil.

To run our program we have selected women trainers with black belt grade in martial arts to teach the girls.

We require various items to run this program smoothely:
1. Martial arts kits.
2. Material for organising awareness program
3. Support for women trainers.

Women Education programe:

Help Social Organisation, with the support of the government, is running an educational programme for women in rural areas. Under the two-year program girls and women, who could not complete their basic education (matriculation) due to various reasons, have been enrolled.

One of the main features of the programme is that the Organisation has selected only women teachers to impart education to girls and women. These women are well educated but unemployed. Thus through one initiative, the Organisation is serving two purposes – spreading education and providing employment to women. Moreover, the Organisation is paying more than what has been allotted the government for teachers from own resources and expanding the horizon of the project to school drop out girls also.

We also plans to enroll these girls and women in our various upcoming projects for providing employment.

How you can help us: You can sponsor the education of one woman by contributing funds to our programme. The Organisation will use these funds for providing employment to women, empowering women through education and supporting the education of girls who could not complete their education due to poverty in rural areas. 

Skill Development centres

To give a strong platform for underprivileged children to step into the competitive world, Help Social Organisation has started skill development centres at Ghanahatti in Shimla where free education and extracurricular activities like yoga, martial arts and painting are being taught.

Apart from extracurricular activities like yoga, martial arts, painting, singing and moral guidance, awareness on health, sanitation and cleanliness is also given to such children.

Our objective is providing support to children belonging to BPL and IRDP families in their education and other activities necessary for all round development. Children need assistance in their studies apart from school. But these children are not getting the necessary parental guidance in studies due poverty and low or negligible education. We are helping such children to realise their full potential through a number of activities.

How you can contribute:
You can contribute funds or material like computers, books sports goods etc useful for children. You can also adopt one child for his all round development through our initiative. Your given funds would be used for paying salaries to teachers and coaches, buying material needed for children and opening more such centres in far flung areas.

Support Drug de-Addiction Program

Help Social Organization (HSO) for the last many years has been running campaign against drug dependence. We are organizing awareness campaigns in rural area. We are also organizing group counseling for drug dependents. On every World Tobacco Day on May 31 we aim to free at least 20 people from the clutches of addition. In the last WTD, 20 poor labourers quitted addiction after our counseling session.

We have testimonials of hundreds of persons who quitted drugs after our counseling. We wish to spread this campaign to each and every corner so that each person could be benefitted. We think that by changing one personality we can change the fate of one family – thus building the essence of huminity.

You can contribute funds to support these campaigns. Also you can support our purposed rehabilitation centre in Shimla where we wish to cure poor drug addicts free of cost.

Pay Heed to Poor Elders

Recently our NGO organized medical camp in an old-age home at Tattapaani near Shimla. Though the government is doing tremendous job to provide shelter to elder people facing neglect of the society, more is needed to be done for providing better facilities to these people. There are insufficient attendants for  elderly people.

To criticize somebody for poor management is very easy but it is difficult to work for changing that conditions. We are going for the second option. We know government is doing its part though it’s not sufficient. So we have decided to lend a hand to this poor elder home. We have decided to appoint some helpers for these elder people and our NGO will bear the burden of salaries of these helpers. Also our NGO is installing a water purifier at old-age home to provide clean drinking water.
