Neevriti

Rampant crimes against women like molestation, eve-teasing, and domestic violence call for immediate and effective intervention by society to curb this demon.

Many gory incidents in recent past have suggested that women are unsafe even while travelling by local transport or going to cinema halls, shopping malls and bus stops etc.

This situation is not isolated only to the towns. This can be seen in villages, mini towns or anywhere these days. Even the foreigners are subject to the harassment by unscrupulous elements who have forgotten the meaning of 'Atithi Devo Bhavah'.

What is the solution to the problem on which almost everybody expresses concern but little is there on the ground to make women feel safe in society?

To answer this question, Help Social Organisation, has been implementing the programme 'Lets Respect Women – NEEVRITI' in Himachal Pradesh.

The Objectives

  • Impart self-defence techniques to girls and women to make them strong
  • Impart training to deal with such kind of situations through simulation
  • To make girls sensitive for raising an alarm and speak up against the oppression
Actions taken by HSO under the programme:

HSO organises camps regularly at various places like villages and towns to spread awareness about the issue. As a result of it, hundreds of women have been trained and educated about their rights by us in Himachal Pradesh.

Early 2013, HSO trained girl students of around 25 schools in Shimla district. More than 2500 girls benefitted from this programme. The girls received training in 45 vital life saving martial arts techniques from our well-trained coaches. They were also taught about ways to teach a lesson to eve teasers.

We have also trained special women coaches to implement the programme. We have sufficient human resources to implement the project on a large scale.

We also associate with organisations, private or public, to provide this training for their women employees under welfare programme. Any interested organisation or company can call us any time to implement this programme and make their women employees stronger.
